Project Management
Entering the world of Project Management was accidental for me. I never thought of myself as a PM or anywhere near management. However, after taking one course and being a PM for a few months, I knew it was something that I was interested in Pursuing. I'm honored to announce that I received my PMP and joined the Project Management Institute's Saudi Arabia Chapter.
One of the projects I had the fortune to manage was for Phase Racing. Phase Racing is a small business that specializes in manufacturing customized car accessories such as custom front splitters and rear diffusers for all car models to enhance the appearance of vehicles. Phase Racing started as a small company with two employees working out of their garage.
Company growth led to an increase in product demand, which resulted in an unacceptable accumulation of backorders. Therefore, the company needs to shift from small-scale tools such as cutters and saws to more extensive mass production machinery to keep up with customer demands. With a budget of $500,000, we plan to re-equip our 5000 square feet workshop with all machinery and tools needed to increase production. The budget also includes a contingency of about $110,714 reserved to cover unforeseen expenses. The tools required are handheld jigsaws, bench and angle grinders, electric spray guns for painting, and other heavy-duty machines such as CNC cutters and car lifts. The workshop will also have a new office section for administrative and customer service staff and a storage shed for handheld tools and safety equipment.
The Phase Purple Project aimed to redevelop the workshop into a new manufacturing line to produce standardized and custom products. The project involved remodeling the workshop and shed with the tools and machines needed to meet customer demand and account for continued company growth. The project began on June 1, 2021, and will continue until September 27, 2021, when the production will begin.
